Our job was to take that personal starting point and build a brand that holds up even without the founders front and center – with its own positioning, a design system that balances seriousness and dynamism, and a website that delivers on that day to day. Classic typography meets a more vibrant color world, rounded out by photo and video production that shows who's actually behind mdb finance. The result is a brand foundation that gives customers and partners a clear sense of orientation while still leaving room to grow.

Where tradition meets modern foresight
The starting point was the shield shape – the classic heraldic silhouette, given a modern interpretation rather than a historical reconstruction. Three layers of meaning are woven into that base form: the curved lines pick up river and lake, standing for steady development and transparency, while the calm surface of the lake hints at depth and reliability. At the same time, the vertical elements read as trees, whose growth and stability build a second image within the same mark – a forest as a symbol of a system you can trust. A single shape ends up carrying two meanings: tradition and history on one side, growth and stability on the other.

The name becomes the brand’s character
The shield mark doubles as the company’s initials: m, d, and b merge into a single form without the individual letters needing to stay legible on their own. The stroke style and curves stay consistent across all three letters, so the aesthetic doesn’t feel applied on top — it comes straight out of the typography itself.
